MMIW - Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Two Spirit Honoring Event

There are over 5,000 missing and murdered Native American women and Two-Spirit people in the United States today. This does not include the people who live off the reservations. There are over 65,000 Native American people living in Illinois. Are some of our missing among those people?

At 1 p.m the gathering will begin to honor those missing and murdered. The ceremony will include a blessing, a pipe ceremony, drumming and singing, a healing jingle dress dance, and the Red Dress ceremony.

The event is open to the public. Come dressed in red or wear your MMIW t-shirt to support the indigenous people. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets.

MMIW T-shirts will be available for sale at the event. This is a fundraiser for this event.

More details are to follow and far as venue. Please check back.
